About the Journal

A publication of Help Earth

Published by Help Earth ↗

Understanding animal life begins with careful observation. A species recorded from an unfamiliar locality, an overlooked behaviour, or a finding from sustained research can each contribute to our understanding of the natural world. Zoology Notes aims to provide a platform for sharing such knowledge and encouraging a deeper interest in zoological research and conservation.

Published by Help Earth, Zoology Notes is an online-only, open-access journal dedicated to advancing and sharing knowledge of animal diversity, natural history, ecology and conservation. Its open-access format makes published contributions freely available to researchers, students, educators, conservation practitioners and interested readers.

Call for articles: Inaugural issue

We warmly invite contributions for the inaugural issue of Zoology Notes. Researchers, students, naturalists and conservation practitioners are encouraged to submit original research articles, short communications, reviews and well-documented natural history observations. Contributions may address taxonomy and systematics, species distributions, animal behaviour, ecology, conservation, and other aspects of zoology. We particularly welcome observations and studies that bring attention to poorly documented species, habitats and regions. Articles will be published on a rolling basis, becoming available online individually as soon as the editorial and production processes are complete. Authors are requested to consult the journal’s author guidelines before submitting their manuscripts.

Join us in building a shared record of animal life, one observation, one discovery and one article at a time.

Scope of the journal

Zoology Notes invites original research articles, short communications, reviews and well-documented natural history observations in all fields of zoology. Contributions may address:
